  I was visiting Daytona Beach from Boston recently and needed a haircut, so I walked in to Family Cuts "on a lark," knowing nothing about it. Dawn, the owner, gave me one of the best cuts I've had in years. She was the perfect combination of friendly/gracious and skilled/conscientious. I wish this shop were located near my home - I'd be a regular!

  I had a very bad experience at Family Cuts. Owner, Dawn took 4 hours for a color and a cut. During cut she explained that a good cut will fall nicely into place. After cut was complete, there was a section of hair that was longer during the rest. She then cut the right side of hair twice. I pointed out that this made the left side uneven. She cut the left side, but never got it even with the right side. Two days later she called me and I explained cut needed some adjustments. I scheduled an appointment for a cut and eyebrow waxing out of the 1 week period and fully understood there would be a charge for this.
  When I arrived for my cut, she said the reason my hair did not look well was because I did not know how to style it. I explained that I left it dry and with no hair product due to cut. She then went on to say that it was due to gravity and insinuated that I was stupid in a very loud voice. I asked her if she could turn her volume down. She then went on and complained that I took too much of her time and made her late for an appointment which cost her $75.00. I apologized to her, but she continued to yell at me and said I came in for free stuff. I felt very uncomfortable and told her I had to leave.
  She followed me out the door and continued to yell at me. I went into another store and when I walked out, she was talking to the lady at the nail salon outside on the sidewalk. She brought this person into the situation and continued to argue with me. I wished her a good day, but she continued with the insults. I have never been treated so badly by any other business.
